The Chilean Chamber of Commerce and Culture reports a series of significant developments in the country's international trade and diplomatic relations. These events underline Chile's strategic role as a crucial link between Latin America, Asia, and the rest of the world.

Firstly, Chile has solidified its position as one of the principal destinations for Brazilian footwear. The country imported over 1.4 million pairs of shoes from January to September 2025, strengthening its connection with the largest shoe industry in the West. This industry focuses on sustainability and innovation as it expands into Latin America.

Secondly, Chile continues to demonstrate its commitment to quality and trust in exports. This commitment is evident in its strict measures against fruit flies, ensuring the safety and quality of its agricultural products.

Thirdly, despite the global economic challenges, Chile's non-copper and non-lithium exports maintain an upward trend and diversification. External sales reached US$ 40.233 billion in October, equivalent to 90% of the record set in 2024.

In addition, after three months of decline, Chile's copper exports rebounded in October. The mining sector sold US$ 5.842 billion abroad, a growth of 19.2% compared to the same period last year. The country's total exports reached US$ 9.435 billion in October, a 13.6% annual increase.

Furthermore, Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced improvements to its 'Asia Latin America Express 1' (ALX1) service, also known as 'Cherry Express.' The goal is to reduce transit times between the ports of Valparaiso and Hong Kong to just 23 days. This move responds to the high logistical demands of transporting Chilean cherries, a product highly valued in the Asian market due to its delicacy and short shelf life.

Finally, Chile and Indonesia celebrated the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations through a drawing contest. The contest was held at the Sekolah Cempaka Putih "Republic of Chile" school, which serves children with special educational needs. The event encouraged more than 40 students of various ages to participate, drawing their perceptions of Chile after watching videos about the country's tourism and exports, including to Indonesia.
