Chile’s agro-industrial exports continue to thrive, with processed fruits and vegetables reaching US$2.271 billion in the first eight months of 2026—a 7% increase compared to the same period last year. Frozen raspberries and cherries led the growth, outpacing the broader food export sector, which expanded by 3.6%.
In a strategic move to expand fisheries and aquaculture trade, Chile’s Sernapesca held high-level talks with Indian authorities to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in sanitary certifications and streamline seafood exports to India.
Meanwhile, Fruittrade 2026 highlighted Chile’s push to diversify markets, targeting India and ASEAN nations. Key discussions focused on overcoming water scarcity and sanitary barriers to sustain export growth.
Refrigeration technology was underscored as a critical factor in maintaining Chile’s reputation for premium fresh produce, ensuring global delivery in optimal condition.
Additionally, ProChile facilitated 180+ business meetings at Food & Service, connecting Chilean food producers—from nuts to craft liquors—with importers from Japan, Brazil, and beyond. ProChile’s international offices in Morocco, Poland, and Italy also participated, amplifying export opportunities.
